2022 at a glance by Mark Lawson

We’re coming to the end of another great year for Honor Oak – and what a year it’s been.  Especially for our charities.

In February, our Bollywood Ladies’ Night raised £2,000 for Wisdom Hospice.

Fantastic Night

Our annual £1,000 St George’s day donation went to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust.

We organised a Race Night at Medway Rugby Club in June in aid of Medway help for Ukrainians, which raised £2,500.

The 1986 challenge raised £1,240 over the summer.  Special thanks to Edd and Ian.

Our fantastic Halloween party raised £727 for HIS charity.

The Christmas party enabled us to donate £2,250 to Step and Learn in conjunction with our friends at Lloyd’s bank.

We announced the Honor Oak Lodge sponsorship for Grace, and the Ray Horn Legacy in favour of Beau.

We also gave £390 to the Ukraine Crisis Appeal, £225 to the Stewards’ Festival Ball, £50 to Ellenor Hospice, £320 to More Than Words, and £300 to the South London Christmas Dinner.

That’s over £11,000 that Honor Oak lodge has raised and donated in the last 12 months, and we’re all really proud of this fantastic achievement.

We were saddened by the loss of ‘Uncle’ Ray, but we gave him a good send off and the Ray Horn Legacy means he’ll always be remembered.

We were also happy to welcome four new initiates into the lodge this year as well as one joining member.  And we’re very pleased to say that there are more to come next year.

All in all 2022 has been a great year for Honor Oak.  Let’s hope that next year is even better.

All of us at Honor Oak wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
