By the time he passed away last year at the grand age of 84, Ray Horn had been a Freemason for 54 years. He achieved many things in that time, not least of which was being appointed Assistant Grand Master of Spain!
Last Saturday, 25th March, 11 members of Honor Oak lodge, including 5 members of Ray’s family, together with his widow Ellen, presented his Spanish Grand Lodge regalia to the Kent Museum of Freemasonry in Canterbury.
Ellen said, “It’s so wonderful to know that Ray’s regalia will be on display here for all to see. Knowing that he’ll be remembered is so comforting”.
Even though he’s no longer with us, Ray is still doing great things. After his death, his family set up a legacy in his name which is used to sponsor treatment sessions at Step and Learn for Beau, a local girl with cerebral palsy.
Known to everyone at Honor Oak as “Uncle Ray”, he continues to be missed by all.
Requiescat in pace.
